The range of activities available in the town truly is endless. With the sea front and sandy beach adjacent to Alexandra House, enjoying all the coast has to offer is a must.
The town also boasts the largest fresh-water lake in Yorkshire, Hornsea Mere. The Mere offers boating opportunities and leisure facilities and it is also an RSP Bird Reserve and is also designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Also adjacent to Alexandra House, is Hornsea Leisure Centre which is currently undergoing a £10m redevelopment by East Riding Council. The redevelopment will produce a state-of-the art leisure facility, swimming pool and community learning hub that will include the library and other community services. This fantastic facility will be less than a 2 minute walk from Alexandra House.
At the heart of the town, is Hall Garth Park, which is 28 acres of green parkland at the centre of the town. The park includes numerous walks, children’s play facilities and host numerous outdoor events each year.
The Flora Hall is another fantastic community facility that includes a café facility and provides the venue for numerous clubs and activities such as monthly cinema showings and dances.
For those that enjoy walking, Alexandra House is situated less than a minutes walk from the official end of the Trans Pennine Trail, the 215 mile long walkway and cycle patch that links the East Coast to the West Coast at Southport.
