A wide selection of local eating and drinking establishments can also be found within the town centre; independent pubs, wine bars and restaurants sit alongside popular cafés and tea rooms.

For retail therapy, Market Weighton is ideally placed between York and Beverley which present multiple shopping opportunities. High-street and well-known brand name stores line its cobbled streets, alongside designer labels and independent boutiques. York is also home to several popular shopping centres, including York Designer Outlet, Monks Cross Shopping Park and Coppergate Shopping Centre.

Further dining options are available in both Beverley and York, which are both home to a variety of pubs and wine bars, as well as a vast selection of restaurants and coffee shops.

For special occasions, Yorkshire currently holds the record for the largest number of restaurants awarded Michelin stars compared to other UK counties. The nearest of which is The Pipe and Glass in South Dalton, which is only a 10-minute drive by car.

Historic York offers a wealth of cultural and entertainment facilities, including museums, theatres, an opera house, a multiplex cinema and York Racecourse.

The east coast is within easy reach of Cavendish Meadows, with local train services running to seaside towns such as Scarborough and Bridlington, both of which are less than an hour’s drive away.

The A1079 is on the doorstep which provides the main arterial road between York and Beverley with Hull easily accessible via the A63. The A614 is just moments away from home, which provides simple journeys to Driffield (30 minutes) and Bridlington (45 minutes). The M62 can also be accessed from this road, which allows for journeys further afield to Castleford (45 minutes), Leeds (1 hour) and Rochdale (1 hour 25 minutes). Additional links from the M62 include the M18, the M1 and A1 (M).

For rail travel, Brough railway station is around 10 miles from Cavendish Meadows, and provides regular and direct services to Hull (10 minutes), Doncaster (30 minutes) and York (45 minutes). London Kings Cross can also be reached in just 2 hours 30 minutes with regular direct services.

Getting away by plane to destinations around the UK and Europe can be done from Humberside Airport, which is around 29 miles away.
